How much does a smic limit?

Auto SOHC:

- T3/T04e 50 trim/.48 AR
- 3" sr20 downpipe
- Apexi SAFC-II
- Taurus E-Fan
- MSD BTM
- SR20 SMIC + Coldpipe
- SR20 Hotpipe

- JGS KA24E Turbo Kit Starter Package + JGS400 Wastegate
- walboro fuel pump
- NA RX7 460cc
- wideband o2 (aem uego or Zeitronix), boost, oil pressure gauges
- NGK Spark Plugs BKR6E11
- Hayden 404 Automatic Tranny Cooler

That WILL be my setup (top part already have, bottom part will get). How much will the smic limit me? (I also have the zenki 180sx bumper with a oem hole in the bumper for a sic) Currently only have 2.5" piping as well (2.5" cat + 2.5" piping + 3" muffler) I will eventually get a fmic, but I wanted to remain stock looking for now. My main goal is just to get it running, not huge hp goals just yet.

PS: Eventually will be 5 speed...heh

I'd keep it low boost at 7-10 pounds until you upgrade to a larger fmic. Climate temperature also makes a huge differance in smic performance.

you can go up to 12 psi if you have a intercooler water/co2 sprayer.

Before you go turbo, swap the car to a 5-speed manual and get an engine built to handle boost like a ca18det, sr20det, or rb25det. You will get more bang for the buck since they already have turbo, low compression pistons, bigger injectors and oil squirters to make the engine last longer.

heh...I'm not gonna comment on that.

Anyway, 7-10 psi seems to be the general consensus. But that's cool because I wasn't planning on running more than 7-8 psi anyway.

7 should be pretty safe. Watch your A/Fs and EGTs and you'll be ok.
