Poor running when cold

I let my car (91 240) sit for 3 days in 0-10 degree weather and it wouldnt start today. Then eventually it did and ran like complete shit until it was warm, if i touched the gas it would die. Once it was warm it ran alright but still not great. kinda like a bad fuel filter. Id compare it to a carburated car trying to start in cold weather. Anyone have any ideas?

injector cleaner
cleaned intake manifold

Another thing to check out would be the Air Reg.

Although, if it's not running well after getting warm either that's probably not it.

hope you had anti freeze in it. or its time for a new motor.

i would say replace the fuel filter and see what happens. But it also sounds like a faulty MAF. You have the tools to test it?

What the hell? yes i have antifreeze in it.

Ive heard a few things:

IAV
Temp Sensor
MAF (no i dont know how to check it, i have a multimeter)

Another thing is that it ran fine before i did the manifold cleaner and injector cleaner. could that have anything to do with it (possibly fouled a plug)? it doesn't run BAD when its warm just not as responsive.

Its too damn cold to mess with it right now (not my dd) im just trying to think of things to check when it warms up a little.

another +1 on the fuel filter. But also another possibility is a bad fuel injector. The cleaner might have been that last straw.... But do the filter FIRST! Then go from there.

The fuel filter is fairly new (<6 months). I was just wondering if maybe the cleaner knocked something loose in my tank and DID clog the filter. I might just go get a new fuel filter and coolant temp sensor.

Well, do you have a fuel pressure tester? If not, I think you can rent one at autozone. Just check it if you can. After thinking about it, fuel pressure test is your first step. Then go from there.

Also, chk the IAV (idle air controll valve)

when my bros coolant temp sensor went bad, it ran just like you described yours. it was hard to start and it would die if you touched the gas until it got warm. even after it got warm, there was a lot of unburnt fuel coming out of the exhaust.

is it SR or KA? my 240 w/ SR been sitting for awhile and in the cold weather the idle sucked and press on gass it would just bog. when warm weather came, the car ran mint. i think it was just the weather affecting the car. especially since it's been sitting there. how's the gas level on it? if it's low, maybe condensation affected it.

replace your injectors and clean your aicv
and you should be fine
make sure to replace the pigtails on the injectors

Just like that huh? Replace them all, and you SHOULD be fine? Sounds like you just like to throw parts at your car and hope it gets fixed. Not a very efficient way to repair your car. The best course of action would be to diagnose your fuel system. Will definitely save you money in the long run.
