s14 z32 caliper swap

Hey what's up. ? do you need to swap out your master cylinder if you are only doing z32 calipers on the front? Haven't got my rear's yet but want to go ahead with the swap. Also, do you need the mounting brackets from the z32 to mount or direct bolt.

No, you dont HAVE to change to MC. Yes, the Z32 calipers bolt on to the stock mounting points...

it is a direct bolt on. all you need is the brake hoses, and you are good to go. and on your master cylinder you can use your stock one

it's probably better to upgrade the master cylinder, read up on the importnut site...

symptoms of people not upgrading = funny pedal feel, rear locks up before fronts, etc etc

if you have an AUTO, then the master cylinder is good, otherwise, it's preferable to upgrade, but in the end, it's up to you

I have Z32 front brakes and kept the S14 MC. as long as they are bled properly and you use steel brake lines and not the ghetto fabbed stock brake lines, pedal feel is barely changed. Some people say a 17/16 inch MC makes it too stiff. I actually bought an auto MC from an S14 but have yet to install it.

thres a ton of threads about "what MC is good" and "what is the best pedal feel" on zilvia if you search. I recall they were pretty old threads so you might have to go back a ways.
