first of all is there a difference between the R12 and the R134 A/C compressor? and another thing is that theres a connector attached to the compressor, i was trying to unplug it but i ended up ripping out the whole connector. do i need that? i post pics tonight.

You need the connector. Other wise your compressor will not work properly.
