new 95 240 ownder.. did my tranny blow?

i did search and found nothing..

hey guys.. i just got my 95 240sx..(that has a sr20det red top) and i drove it for about 50 miles (on the highway in 5th gear) and all of a sudden i press the gas and car doesnt accellerate.. the rpms still shoot up but it feels like im in nutural.. i pull over and car is still runing.. (when i purchased the car it smelled a little like transmission fluid inside).. i had to tow it home.. but when i pulled over i i tried shifting into gears and it felt like it went it but when i released my clutch nothing.. i asked the guy (i bought it from) and he said the tranny has about 50k on it..and the clutch is brand new.. i do hear a slight grinding sound sometimes and when i press the clutch the sound stops.. is my tranny gone? i check underneigh and it is leaking a little fluid but maybe a drop every few hours or so..
please help..

i will try to get some pics and a vid of it starting up..

Pull the drain plug. You should have about 2-2.5 quarts come out. If not, it was running low on fluid which could have damaged a lot of things. Regardless if anything else is involved the transmission should be pulled anyway for internal inspection, check the flywheel and clutch while it's out for hot spots, abnormal wear, loose hardware, or misaligned T/O bearing or pilot bushing.

s14 syncros

I'm thinking a gear syncro is out possibly I had this problem when I stuffed and evo 6 engine in my 2001 mirage and made it awd. She ran good till 4th gear and then I had the same thing.... I'd say that might be the issue but I'm not a sr guru like some on here. GL!

sounds like the clutch is shot. i doubt the transmission would make it act like that.

i managed to snap some pics of the leak.. since i put on the flash i finally got a chance to see that the liquid was green (coolant?).. never once did it over heat.. i have a huge koyo alum radiator with twin fans.. (but the temp gauge in the car did keep jumping from normal operating temp to cold..).. all i've owned previously were honda/acuras so this all this is sort of aliean to me.. anyway here are the pics.. i was trying to also make a video of the sounds it was making but i needed a jump and no one was around..

here in the pic i backed out a little so the white circle was before i backed up (and its been sitting there since monday) and the yellow circle was when i just backed it out.. so as you can tell it's leaking pretty bad.. but no leaks where the tranny meets the block..

could the leak be the major cause of why my car isn't catching gear?

That's just coolant, could be from anywhere judging by the location but that's not the culprit.
