Help with a Q45 brake upgrade
I just installed Q45 front brakes on my ABS equipped S14, and took it for a short drive. When I press the pedal down the first time it gives very little response, but if i let off the pedal then apply the same force again, its brakes like a pro. I dont know why it would give me this problem, and i have bled the brakes a few times so theres no air in the system. I am just trying to figure out why I need to press the brake pedal twice before i get the stopping power i should expect from q45 brakes every time.

![]() hey man i had the same problem when stopping the pedal went down and was mushy but if i let off and hit them again they were firm at the top, i checked everything like you but i noticed that around the caliper boots the two big round ones around the pistons were moist with fluid and there was fluid on my rims, the calipers seals were leaking from sitting in a junk yard so everytime i hit the brakes a little fluid would come out but they would pump up and hold the second time i hit the brakes.

depending on the mileage you could've blown the O-Ring Seals of the master cylinder while bleeding your brakes...sediment collects on the unused part of the master cylinder bore and when you're bleed your brakes you use that unused portion that has a very small chance of damaging your seals...but it does happen...use a vacum bleeder...saves your leg...also get rid of the Air Bleeders...i had problems with mine....good luck man
