Fan recommendation
I've been using derale fans on my recent projects with great results.
I had a flexalite dual fan on my 3rd gen Supra and didn't like them much. They vibrated and resonated loudly, the fan controller caught fire and one fan through a blade making an engine distruction sound. The derale fans are quiet in comparison and low profile. My current car has a 14" and 12" that run nicely together and move way more than enough air, usually the small fan is all that is needed. They are available from summitracing. Christian |

My control box never caught on fire, but it would blow fuses 1-2 times per week and ive ran across several days where i nearly overheated and destroyed a fully built motor..!! ill check out those derale's.. |

Let me ask u guys something and hope u may know the answer.... this is concerning the same topic but a bit different..
A single 14, 15 or 16 inch fan placed in the middle of the radiator that pulls 3000 cfm.... OR dual 10's or dual 12's that cover the entire radiator that also pull 3000 cfm... What im wondering if it matters that the entire radiator is covered or is the cfm the most important part of the setup.. |

Altima fans have done me good. I don't know about anything else other than stock. And I hate the sound of that.

Taurus fan FTW, mines been on for a year without any problems. I dont know answer on CFM's they produce, but ebay sellers claim a lot. They are available at pretty much any junkyard for cheap, and have a shroud that can be butchered to work.

I didn't really have to butcher it, but there is modification needed. I lined up what holes (2 I think, it's been a while) would go, and then I made a bracket for the rest. It's dark out now, but if anyone would like I can try to post some pictures up tomorrow night of how my setup looks, I'll just take the pics before I go to work.

Taurus fan. The low setting is fine with a 30amp fuse, but the high setting is going to need a 45amp or a 50amp fuse. I kept blowing/melting the 40amp fuses, so I'm going to see if a 45amp one will work better first.

yeah, 35amp relay on the low, 50amp on the high.
Can't beat the price at a Junkyard. Just look for a Taurus with 3.8L on the Valve Cover and pop the tabs and cut a good chunk of harness off and you are good to go.

I'll have to check taurus fans out, i have seen a bunch at junkyards. People claim that with the altima fans on their sr they overheat during the afternoon (arizona). I have the altima fans on my Ka and it works wonderful but im not too sure how well it will do with my sr.
