Ok, So I got the bars in today, and test fitted the rear bar, and sure enough, it was not even close.
So.. Here is the end plate BEFORE grinding it to oblivion (photochopped): ![]() Here is it after grinding off the offending edge of the end plate that was hitting the back of the bumper: ![]() another shot: ![]() Ok.. So now that I finally have it ground down enough to get the bottom plate where the bolt hole is flat to the chassis, I begin test fitting it again. Now it appears the Hole is off Center. I begin messing with it, rotating it, seeing if MAYBE I was trying to put it in wrong. WELL.. I think I know whats wrong! They Welded the GODDAMN End plate onto the Bar at the wrong angle. This is the way it Should fit on the car: ![]() Like THIS, the Bar hits the bumper, and the hole is off center for the bolt, and it barely hits the Bumper Strap. (when I ground it down, I got enough off to get by it for the most part.) Now THIS is how I think it was built to be installed: ![]() Like this, the Bar would not come Close to the strap, and the bar would hang exactly as it does in the pictures I've seen. The Bolt hole is Also Lined up b/c you can actuall get the bar flat on the chassis without hitting the bottom of the bumnper. Also the bent down tab follows the chassis like it was meant too. Only problem is, right after the tab, the end plate juts down away from the chassis about 2 inches at the bottom of the plate. Thus my Conclussion that the end plate was welded at the incorrect spot to the bar. And there again, if these ARE in fact duluck, you can clearly see why they where not sold. I would REALLY like to see what Fransisco has to say about this, and what he can do to rectify the Situation. I honestly think he was just lied too, but non-the-less he is still responsible for selling the products he says he is. If your having trouble visualizing them on the car, I will take more pics. p.s. always wear safety glasses when grinding metal.. that shit shoots crap EVERYWHERE.

I got the bars last friday, fitment sucked. Plus i was missing some of the hardware for one set of the bars. I emailed him this Monday, but haven't gotten one back. So I sent him another today, and told him I would like my money paypal'd back to me, or sent bars that fit WITH ALL hardware.
Let's see what he has to say. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> |

it was from a Group-buy that was hosted here, a while back. A bunch of people ordered them. I'm pretty sure they are knock-off bars, and NOT do-luck, so pretty much we were lied too. Whether intentionaly or inadvertantly, it's still a lie.

Hi,
I really don't know what to do, everyone is demanding their money back. I can guarantee you with anything that I didn't intentionally sell you bars that don't fit. I just thought I could help a friend get rid of his left over bars, and help you guys get them since everybody was really excited about them. I wouldn't have given out my information if I was trying to cheat you guys, if you think about it. Now, people are probably going to call my house and bother my family. No one told me to look for anything, like if there is a brand on the bars or stuff like that, and stupid me, I looked at the paper and it said doluck, and I just thought they were real. Not to mention I never made money off this deal at all. And now, everyone is angry, everyone just wants THEIR money back. I am the one who is completely screwed, there is no way I would have that much money at all to give back. I still have two sets which my brother in Hong Kong has, because two people cancelled their orders before I shipped them, and I gave them back their money, so that's about $500 right there, and I am not going to sell them to other people, now that I know they don't fit. What do you guys think would be fair to do? |

This sucks to all parties involved.
There's not much anyone can do. If you were to offer a refund, it sounds like everyone has cut the bar or modified it by now, so can't really return it. btw... what the fuck is a do-luck bar, where do it go, wdoes it do etc?

They make all kinds of chassis braces for the S14/S13 in japan. the people I know who have them say they are VERY nice bars, and stiffen the chassis damatically. Check out their site.. it's in japanese but you can translate it, and check out their cool stuff. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]() Francisco - I modified the rear bar knowing that it would not be returnable when I did it. No expectations there. If the front bar fits, I am willing to take this as a lesson learned, and I hope you do too. Maybe we can come up with a way to get the rear bar to work? Did you get a set of these for yourself?

I didn't get a set myself, because he said he only has them for s13, and I got a s14. Didn't someone say the front went on in 10 minutes in another post? I would definitely call the guy that I got these from and try to talk to me calmly about how to install them, maybe he won't hang up on me. Last time I asked, he just said they have to be installed professionally and it's a 2 hour job. I am extremely sorry for what I did. |

Ok I just tried to install my rear bar. Here is what I have found. The muffler side fit fine. I unbolted the bracket that holds the muffler hangers, that got it out of the way. Then I removed the two bolts that are present on the frame rail. Got two of the supplied bolts with the needed washers, and bolted that side up.
Now the other side is the one that seems to be a bit, uh not so easy. One would think that the bar would slide on into place. Well it kinda does. But the (or my) problem is that it doesn't fit flush with the frame rail (I haven't tried to figure out where it is getting stuck just yet. I tried to use a floor jack to press it up flush as much as possible to the rail, but it didn't seem to hold. I think it is that the brace has a 45 (approx) degree angle to it (with respect to the ground) to conform to the rail, but in reality the rail is more horizontal. I will try to take some pics to help out. kevin hope the front goes on a little easier. |

Ok here are some pics.
![]() installed. The more I push up on the passenger side (to make everything flush) the more it gets angled. ![]() side shot. The bracket needs to be more verticle, but the difference in the rail and angle on the bracket will not allow, just yet anyway. ![]() here is an under shot showing how it needs to be pushed up a bit. Anyone else get theirs installed yet, and good fitment? kevin |

From the pics Syskichimp posted it seems like the mounting plate was just welded on at the wrong angle. So i plan on working on a solution this weekend at my dad's house/garage. May have to bust out his welder and re-weld the mount onto the bar. That should work although is will surely be a pain in the ass.
I will post next week with my results. |
