what up fam. i was wondering where i should buy my motor from. i was looking on nico and alot of people got there from heavythrottle, enjuku, phase2, etc... i was thinking about getting a motorset from jazzpro or http://www.japanmotorimport.com which is in canada. there was a guy who got an sr from jazzpro and said this

"Sloth I bought my S14 SR20 from JazzPro, because I wanted to avoid Osaka (a friend bought his GTO motor from them and it was scrap at best. ie a hole in the trans. They basically told him to F-off.). Anyway JazzPro and Osaka are the same people. I tracked my motor set and everything came up Osaka Auto. I would stay away from both.
Go with Heavy Throttle or Enjuku. You may pay a little more but they sell ONLY quality stuff and the guys there are awesome."

but japan motor import was very good and i was thinking about getting from them, but there from canada. can you guys give me some good info on a good sr20 blk top for around 2-2300 ship. any info on jazzpro and japan import would be great if anybody has done bussiness with them or can give me some info on where to get a motorset from somebody else for a very good price. thanks. any info would be great!!!!!

I would say save a little more and get it from someone that wont screw you with a fucked motor.

they are local to me, really good guy, really good engines and front clips he definetly will give you good shit

same here I drive (not as much as John) quite a bit but I got my RB from this guy, it's really good shit.

I;ve gotten motors from both of these companies and well I trust them. I got my SR from JnR, and I got the RB From Neo Tech Imports.

What he said, I bought my clip from them. Plenty of bonus goodies came on the clip also. For your viewing pleasure they can and will take clips of the engine running in Japan before it's pulled or cut. They are a stand up company with quality parts and service.

PS: if you search for any of the names already listed you will find other companies and reviews.

venus has done well with me 5 years ago and all my friends.

it was some dude on the nico forum that said that. as of what i know alot of people do not like osaka cause of the cut harnesses and not being able to give them the right ecu and is hard for them to get in contact with osaka after they purchase the motor. but hey they might be good with you. its all up to you if you want to purchase a motor from them.

I 3rd the motion for NEOTECH, I personally drop by the shop from time to time to say hi to john (and look through his newest line of goodies in his shipments before you suckers get to them)....

Just to give you a little heads up about them, they do alot of work with JWT (who I also drop in on from time to time) and MCKinney. I hear they actually supply the motorsets for McKinney.

I dropped by like a month ago and their going rates for a redtop motorset was 1900. When I last bought my motor from him, he had a warranty on all mechanical components of the engine, but not "official" warranty on the electrical. That doesnt mean he isnt a nice guy. My roomie at the time received a bad ECU with his motorset and John traded it off with a smile. The guy is a real cool dude. I highly... HIGHLY recommend him.

I just recently ordered an SR from Osaka and I should have known something was up.

-I ordered a S13 Blacktop SR20DET
-Motor showed up had a Redtop valve cover on it, and the Redtop O2 sensor
-ECU had the model number missing
-Harness was a mess but it was uncut
-motor was dirty

Cleaned it up and checked over everything, got the motor in. loud squeal from the head. Then in under 10hrs, the motor started knocking.

I'm going to call them first thing tomorrow and talk to them. Luckly I've got high deal laywers in the family. We'll see how they treat me.

I think Im' going to ask for a refund and buy from SR20Store.com

This is like the 1 millionth thread I've seen on this subject. If you would have searched you would have found them too, and would have been able to compile data from that.

My suggestion would be NeoTech imports also. I've boughten from them. Quality parts and good customer service.
