Your timing is probably retarded.
And your 02 sensor is most likely bad.

Those 2 things will help a lot.

Then do a general tune-up.

Did you try checking your ECU for codes yet?

That'd be my first step in problem diagnosis.

There are a lot of things that can cause your car to run rich and/or get bad gas mileage.

Check your codes first and then go from there.

ECU is located at the foot of your passenger interior, kick panel, held in via 3 screws iirc. for codes and descriptions search.

Ha you might wanna do a major tune-up. If you kept your car in shape it wouldn't have such a bad diet on gas. Prolly all choked up on carbon and dirt.

like they said do the small stuff, plugs, oil, fuel filter. But what works best for me is use a Lucas Oil Brand injector cleaner, it works wonders. I know some people say it dont do shit but i use it every 1500miles i get 27.7 mpg, and my bro used it in his v8 lexus ls400 he went from 200 miles per tank to 300, no shit, for 3 bucks cant go wrong

Do a full tune up and also try doing about 70mph on the highway. I had a MK3 Supra before my 240 and i was complaining about bad gas mileage. I started driving slower and I immediately saw a difference.

Good Luck!!!! =D

Do a tune-up.

Check your timing.
Replace your O2 sensor.
Check for exhaust leaks.
Check your coolant temp sensor, warm up your car and wiggle the connector see if it makes your idle change. If it does get a new sensor and get a new connector.
