RAS install.
Hey when you install your Rocker Arm Stoppers are you still able to use that OEM copper cam plate on the exhaust side? I couldn't get it to fit with the new cams and RAS along with oil squirters.

You don't need it. Search for some RAS install threads.

i appologize for bump but i have a serious question. Is there any specific way to install the ras with the spacers that are on the oil squirter? couldn't find anything online. today i started my car up and sounds like the rocker arms are hitting the stoppers.

1: no you dont have to drain your oil 2: a torque wrench is a MUST. 3: a little rtv on top and below the vcg is always good, they tend to leak without it |

If you've never removed your valve cover and are asking if you need to follow torque specs on your valvetrain, this might not be the job for you.
The writeup mentioned above from Nico has plenty of directions/pictures that you should use it as your guide. Like he says, follow FSM procedure for cam cap bolt loosening/torqing and you should be fine to use your existing valve cover gasket, unless it's already leaking. Just make sure it's not twisted or ripped when reinstalling. Careful to not drop anything inside the valvetrain either. You shouldn't have to drain oil....unless you just happen to be putting fresh oil/filter in anyway. |

Good luck and good choice for a first mod.
Oh yeah, a reliable and accurate torque wrench should be your new friend....go treat yourself to one you'll never look back!!! |
