So if im getting a complete s14 motorset ecu and harness would it be easier to just go out and get a s13 dohc harness and ecu or can i use the s14 ecu with the s13 dohc harness?

ECUs are not switchable between harnesses, plugs are completely different. Get an S13 ECU.
