240sx trade

Hey guys, i know its not a good idea but i would really like your opinions on this. I am on the verge of trading my 1996 240sx for a race built ae86. Sorry i have no pictures but i can describe both cars. My car is basically stock looking except some 5 lug enkei meshies and lowered. i have full SPL control arms front and rear, stance GR + coilovers, and a r33 LSD, and s15 steering wheel. My car is salvaged but with only 80k on motor and chassi.

The corolla has a full cage, trd suspension, rebuilt GTS motor, TRD hatch with molded wing, 15x9 work equipt wheels, 4 point harness, bride race seat, sparco steering wheel, its a real GTS, clean chasi with no accidents, no rust at all, and comes with a whole lot of spare parts and hks cams and cam gears. car has about 118,xxxx miles on it. passes smog. I'm sorry guys but its like a coin toss for me, i like ae86's, but i like s14 also.

just came back from checking out the car again. Turns out the car has 200k on chasi and 100k on motor. it is salvaged and speedo and oil pressure dont work. The chasi looks in better shape than mine, cleaner and straighter. Corolla does need a paintjob. Parts he's giving me inlcude: Bride seat, new shocks, 15x9 work equip wheels, Konig wheels, New brakes and trd hatch. So what do you guys think?

^^ thats true and all, but do you think the corolla i am talking about is worth anywhere close to 6,500 dollars? i mean that corolla is not perfect, it is a project car and thats what i want. it is pretty much doen except for the engine, that thing is slowwwwwwwww.

From the first post I would have said take it.. But after finding all that out, its really up to you.. It depends, is this gonna be a DD or a project car for the track.. You said you want a project car, but didn't mention whether or not you are driving it daily or if you are making it strictly for track... If its for the track take the 86, its almost done as you said... If not, keep your s14... Thats my two cents anyways... Let us know what you do...

Well before you found out the 86 had a salvage title, I would have said that trading your salvage title S14 for a clean title 86 would not have been a bad idea. Salvage titles make cars worthless for the most part. Now I am not sure but 86's are getting hard to get and expensive, stupid expensive. Which means you might be able to get some fool, to pay you good money for it, even with the salvage title. Where as a Salvage title S14 is pretty much junk value. Do not mean to offend about your car, just telling you like it is man . good luck.

thanks guys for your input. As i said before the chasi and suspension is done on this car, i just need a 20v turbo motor =), thats atleast my plan for it if i get it. i am looking for a daily driver/track car. Comfort is not a big thing for me, and i drove the 86 and liked it. The rattles i can fix, sounds like the trunk latch rattling. Well your opinions will still be appreciated, and i will post if i go for it definately. And pics will come after i get camera back. thanks guys!
