02 sensor

So I have a CEL rear 02 sensor. Now I checked online and they list auto and manual 02 sensors. My 98 was auto converted into manual/ecu. Is the fitting on the exhaust different for auto/manual or sensor give off different vlts. or something. I find it a tad strange nissan did this especially since it the heated 02 sensor which does nothing. I just need to get it squared away to go pass emissions. I will be picking up a auto 02 sensor since they have it in stock and comparing it to my other one tommorow. But if anyone knows that would be swell, I searched didn't find anything about it.

Check FSM?
Logic and reason tells me they should be the same. Take it out and compare it with the new one before buying it.
And O2 sensors do serve a purpose - they help get your engine get to proper operating temperature when cold and they help regulate emissions for OBD. Faulty O2 can make the ECU make wrong fuel adjustments that can F-up your gas mileage.

rear o2 means the secondary o2 sensor, not primary, so he's right in that it doesn't do much. iirc all it does is measure efficiency

and for your answer
kfl = alex?

i have a '95 manual base
the rear o2 i have is from sparkplugs.com and was a 'manual' o2 (which is no longer available btw)
the piping is from arthur's car, which was an auto 96 iirc.

yes it screws in.

^that clears things up a bit. Yeah secondary tests cat efficiency, a bad one can throw a cel though.

just take yours off before you go to the autoparts store. I highly DOUBT nissan ecu's were programmed with two different emissions programs based solely on the tranny. My thought it one of the trannies cuased some clearance issues or a different harness so the flying lead or the plug on the sensor must be different.
