welding own bracing bars?

Did some searching and many people seem to say the nismo power brace helps a bit, chassis rigidity. I found it on ebay and it looks like stock tension brackets with a bar welded between and a plate to brace behind it. Similar can be said about inner fender braces. With a welder it doesnt look too hard to make it yourself. I'm not too familar with all the bracing bars and the ones that make really make difference. But I do have a mig and tig welder plus lift to use.
this guy has alot of difference bars but I cant tell what is what in those pictures. Do ladder bars help much?

I added a power brace to my friend's car. I got 4"x4" 3/16 plates. I cut them so that I can box in the tension rod brackets. Then I used 3/4 sch 40 pipe to connect it all together. Then I added a rod to triangulate the pipe and the tension rod brackets. I pretty much copied the nismo. All in all I probably spend like $20 in materials that is including the gas and electrode. My buddy said he did notice a big difference. This was all done by mig.

AMS performance/Turbo240 sells a weld-in kit for $75. Check it out.

Some plates and a bar can be bought at home depot for much less. Be nice to see some pictures of other braces like subframe brace and ladder bars to see how they mount.
