I have owned a stock S-14 for 11 months now, and am looking to install some engine mods. Looking for any suggestions

don't know if this should really be in the tech forum...

but stay stock and save money...then go with either a swap or a turbo kit.  that's the best advice anyone could and will give you.  spoken from experience, and talking with other 240 owners, spending money on headers/intake/exhaust/ecu/cams...etc. is a waste...when the best you'll be looking at is 230(most I've heard..anyone else?)  you can spend the same amount of money, and do either a swap or for a little more, turbo the KA.

seems like most of us aren't happy until we reach that 250@wheel mark....so either a swap or turbo is needed.

everytime you feel slow and are itching to buy headers or intake.....remind yourself of how fast you'll be if you wait.

meanwhile...upgrade handling.  swaybars, wheels/tires, spring/shock, etc.

I'm sure I don't speak for everyone...but like I said, myself and many others I've spoken to wish we hadn't of spent any money on NA components.

i agree. i try to tell people to just save. people say an exhaust system will do this, air filter will do that. but come on. it's not doing much when you're still running 15's. 15's are sloooooooooooow. add a turbo and or new forged pistons, or swap to an SR and you're running with the big boys. and leaving the hondas behind. or you can spend 2000 in bolt ons and be as fast as a stock integra type R. which is still technically slow.

Or you can go my planned route, which includes a pretty massive rebuild, upgrading anything I possibly can. I'm hoping to get up to about 250 N/A. I don't know if it's possible, but I think I could deal with 225, which I know is.

Something about staying N/A just seems really cool to me, i'm not sure what it is.

Don't forget about the CA18DET too. If you really got the $$$ go for the RB25DET (skyline). I'll also add to this if you got a high mileage car go with a engine swap it's cheaper. If you got a descent engine get turbo. Remember the KA isn?t really a turbo engine. If done right you can give SR and CA a run for their money.
