i asked about the first while on vacation in D.C., they said it's not always true.

i've heard the second is short for "copper" (you've heard it in old gangster movies) which stood for the copper buttons on their uniforms.

I think I saw them at Urban Outfitters. I don't care too much for their clothing, but they have a lot of interesting books there.
