I'm gonna make more post short and simple
Advantages of: Sloted and Cross drilled roters? How is getting oem sized roters on a S14 of sloted or cross drilled or both and replaced to performace pads compared to the Z brake upgrade? I was thinking the first because it's pretty simple and something I could do myself. |

http://stoptech.com/technical also see FAQ http://www.sentra.net/tech/garage/brakes.php Zbrakes will still be better. Larger diamater rotors = more leverage = better stopping power. Plus they look cooler <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]()

bottom line: I'm sticking with non-drilled rotors. I MAY at some point try slotted-only rotors, but I don't have the cash for the time being, and can't justify the faster wearing of pads that it will cause.
And yes, I read at least half of that argument. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]()

Z brakes are kick ass in my opinion, but it's a user choice.

well, actually, the aluminum 26mm calipers weigh LESS than the stock calipers (helping unsprung weight). and the Z rotors are only marginally heavier than stock. if you think the Z brakes don't stop better than stock, come take a ride in my car and i'll be sure to put your nose in the windshield on every stop. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]() Eric

and the brake pad wear seems normal, I have Z brakes with slotted and crossdrilled rotors and the pads (Nissan OEM) are still thick, like new.
larger diameter rotors = better stopping is not entirely true. you can only go so big. going too big will offset the brake bias of the car. the front will absorb most of the force than the rear, which will make braking worse. stock on the 240 is around 75% front and 25% rear. the Z brake upgrade is the perfect choice if going for better brakes cause it doesn't need upgrading the rear for proper balance, to an extent. it'll probably be even better with the rear Z brakes.
