i had a muffler shop install 2.5" piping from the cat with a so-called performance exhaust for about $250. my 240 is na with an injen CAI, i was wondering if i should go with something like 5zigen or apex n1. or will it be around the same HP gains.
any help greatly appreciated, thanx. <-------devirginizing post <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]() |

with so many aftermarket exhuast for the 240 theres really no need to build a custom one...the only reason that i see for building a custom exhuast would be for a car that doesnt have any aftermarket mandrel bent exhuasts available or for making a custom ultra high hp turbo exhuast the size of sewer pipes...but even those are still available...is the the apexi gt spec something like 3.5"?

fu. If you are rich enough to spend $500 on 5 hp good for you. You can buy a decent turbo for $500 and put together a complete turbo kit for 4 times as much and that will give you 20 times as much hp as your pricey and shiny exhaust. Honestly, i think that the difference between custom mandrel bent piping and cat back systems is miserable on n/a cars (like 1-2 hp), but while the complete catbacks will prolly last you longer. Custom will rust, although iirc only on the outside. |
