alright well i was having problems with my clutch and i narrowed it down to between my slave and master cylinders. my question is how exactly do i tell which one is bad other than looking for visible leaks? i already purchased a slave cylinder ($20 ) since it was cheaper but other than installing this and seeing if it works, i don't know how to tell if its the master cylinder instead ($60+$65 core )...

also can someone whos replaced their clutch slave cylinder give me a walk through of how to replace it and bleed the system. i have a shop manual and its really straightforward (remove old one, replace with new one, bleed system) but i wanna make sure its really that simple. also how hard is the cylinder to get to from under the car using jackstands? thanks

from my experience, its best to replace both if you're replacing ne of them. they work hand in hand almost, so you might as well replace both because if you leave the other one in there, it too will probably fail soon enough.

I only paid $22 each for them Learn from my mistakes. If it won't bleed by the bleeder vavle, crack the line open a little on the master cylinder after pumping it, when holding the peddle in.
