GOt some coilovers and was wondering heard its good to corner balance them so that you can shift the weight in the your car, But noticed not much people do this. Let me know what you guys thing It's definitly not cheap and your doe's not become slammed. It is supposed to give good weight distrubition and help for weight transfer give feed back guys mepoke

its not cheap, and what are 95% of most 240 owners? CHEAP!

honestly i can only see corner balancing benefiting a full time race car. and even then i highly doubt you will notice a diffrence if you haven't been racing/autox or drifting that long.

For street car I'm going to say that coner weighting is unnecesary. With vehicle weight constantly changing - fuel, cargo, passenger etc. it really doesn't do any good. I would say a nice even ride height with a proper alignment is more than good enough for a multipurpose street/track/drift/autox car.

Your car in a position that LOOKS cool with stagger wheels or whatever may be at 58/42 ratio. After corner balance its 51/49. You just helped weight transfer and handling a LOT.

I corner balance my car. It was a total PITA. Also, be sure to do it with you in the car, and your car set-up the way it will be driven. (ie-certain amount of gas, no passenger, etc.) Whats the point of putting expensive ass coilover on a car if you don't corner balance it?

Oh yeah.... That thing zilvia cares so much about....looks.

i do understand what your saying, but to an weekender type of guy, and the price of having a good shop corner balance i dont see the justification in it. like you say yo do it with what you'd normally run in. so as soon as you change what you'd normally run with it turns back into a shit situation, maybe not as bad but back closer to square one right?

I disagree, I think all cars on coilovers should be corner balanced. Makes a huge difference imo.

its not really about front rear weight distribution. its about cross weight so the car responds equally when turning left and right

it's not necessary like an alignment. but it's worth it if you think it's worth it. none of my friends think its a good idea to buy $1300 coilovers for a car worth about $4000 or $5000 tops. but i think its worth it.

car is set on four scales under tires with driver in car
each scale measures weight at each corner
height at each corner is adjusted until weights are such that rear left + front right = rear right + front left (roughly)

I guess not everyone drives their cars the same...meaning it prollly isn't for everyone after all.

To those who do track, touge, whatever.... The car should be balanced in the exact form it will be driven in, WHEN DRIVING ALL OUT. Meaning, who cares if handling goes to shit when you have a full tank of gas, a backpack, and two passengers in the car? You shouldnt be hauling ass like that anyways.
