s14 ka swap in pignose wont start

so i just bought this 90 hatch with a s14 ka de swap in it but it wont start.

guy said it would start but wouldn't idle and ran bad but wouldn't start when i went to look at it.

car has a s13 ecu, maf, and water temp sensor and i assume a redone s14 harness to fit, but ill check with him to be sure.

the question is, what all should i be checking on this thing that would cause it to not start?

it kicks over once and tries to start and then just spins.

i tried searching but all im getting is a white blank page.

cleaned the plugs and restabbed the distributor and it fired right up. idles kinda high and revs funny except for when the dist is turned all the way one way.

im figuring the timings not zero'd and i know theres a bunch of vaccum leaks cause its a sohc intake ghetto'd on the dohc motor.
