How are NRG Innovations products?
Hello,
I was wondering if anybody has used any NRG parts on their cars and how the quality of their products were. I dont believe they have a R&D department, so I imagine their product line is not so Innovative, but I dont want to see what those people who have used their products think. Thanks |

I have an NRG short hub. This was the shortest hub on the market for an S13 that was drilled for both a Momo and Nardi bolt pattern. The Works Bell is probably a few mm's shorter, but does not have both bolt patterns.
I think this is pretty "innovative", don't you think? |

Yeah I figured that with not having any R&D and I dont promote the purchasing of any products that the company has not even tested. Now this is all speculation, I havent asked the company about their testing process or anything yet, I figured I start here, but I was given a set of their seats and I am not going to use them, however I am not going to give them to someone without knowing myself if their worth anything or not. Dont want to hurt or kill anyone..thats all.

I have use their products in the past and i have to say its a goo bang for the buck. Its not super high quality but it works. So far none of my customers have complained exept for thei like of hoods. that i must say i have had problems with proper fitment. thats why i dotn sell their hoods or lips or stuff like that.. as far as hubs, harness bars, and other stuff of that nature.. i have nothing but praises..

Come on man, I'll give it to you. You KNOW your law VERY well. You are damn good at it.
I don't go along with any of your arguments though. I understand your point of view on it all and I 100% disagree with it. patents patents patents. I do not feel like posting anything in your thread. No matter what I write, you'll disagree with it too. ETHICS. ETHICS ETHICS

Ok..I am sorry I posted this, I just wanted to know if their stuff was any good! I think the discussion in the "Off Topic" thread is a very good one and quiet necessary, but it should probably stay there. I will find out about the seats myself...
mods can u close please |

eh when it comes to seat get the real deal. cause alot of times the seats by these type of companies are not crash tested. if you want a nicely priced bucket seat go with buddy club.

a lot of people own the hubs and quick releases
they are copies of 'Works Bell' though all depends on if you want to support a company like that... but "hey, it's cheaper :P"

no matter what you get.. just get the best you can afford. unless you're out to impress people, then you're building it for the wrong reason.
personally..when it comes to something like a seat... it prob won't be any worse than the 20% of ppl on here who run seats off ebay (not oem off ebay). Hell, I've had "high end" seats suck balls and sold them after being in the car for 10 minutes. you're doing your research, and thats good. just keep looking and you'll find what you're after.

Somtimes mad tyte JDM shit isn't always the best, people talk shit about the quality of NRG products but Works-Bell shit isn't free of freak stories either, just search on google. This isn't the only website on the planet. But people are quick to talk shit on people buying knock off parts when they wont spend the money for quality parts they tell other people to buy either. it's so retarded. |

JDM Type R? or Regular Recaro SRD? If you got the non JDM ones, there are two different styles of brackets. A non-height adjustable, and height adjustable one. The height adjustable actually sits too tall even on the lowest setting. There are also aftermarket sliders/adapters like Nagis Super Low Seat Rails, that sit like the JDM Type R recaros. |

I purchased NRG's hood pin set. The Carbon Fiber one and it gave me a few problems. It's easy to install but the lock itself would jam up.
The design was the main problem, not the materials used. It uses a multi-peice washer type of thin nuts to hold the face of the lock tight onto the hood.. which are suppose to prevent slippage by being tightened against themselves. It probably looked good on paper but if you open your hood at least once a week I wouldn't recommend it. The durability of the actual threaded cylinder on which the flat nuts scroll onto loses it's integrity I imagine with all the heat and flex that the pin is exposed to.

no. Did I speak of it as being unobtainable? no. I'm just trying to contribute to the thread, I said people hate on things that they don't own, take Megan for example. |

They could use a little help with the R & D. I tried to use their short hub with the short quick release on my 95 and the combination of the 2 don't work together. The bolt on the steering column sticks out too far. After closer inspection it looks like both of them can't be used together at all on any car.

You're right I guess I read your comment wrong. I've never heard anything bad about their steering wheels or buckets so I guess our experiences would be different.

Well, I have their thin QR, and to be honest, it worked fine for a bit, and now I hate it.
The design basically only uses 4 little rubber feet to keep the wheel from moving in the forward/backward axis, so when you have the wheel on there, and the QR locked into place, when the car idles it'll rattle. Really annoying. But, if you don't mind the rattle, it works fine. |
