questions about the rb25det

hi guys well this is my first post ever on this site so dont flame me too bad i just had some questions on the rb25det if i do decided to get a 240sx (s13) fast back. i did own a 300ZX NA 2+2 and have worked on many Zs. but well since i dont think im going to be able to get another Z anytime Z im probably looking into getting an s13 but this all depends on which engine i want to put in. so alot of people do the ca18det and the sr20det of course and some turbo the ka24de and then some even do the rb20det. since the rb25det is a r33skyline engine thats for surely a plus, also its a good gain swap. but here is what i would like to know.

t or f ??? i can use the stock s13 subframe or use the r33 subframe??

t or f??? better to get the engine (complete) or a full front clip??

rough price ranges would be nice ive seen 3-4k ( sounds about the same for a TT engine

whats the accessability of aftermarket parts for the engine as well as stock parts???

what turbos are nice for the engine?? sounds like a td05 or td06 would be very nice gain

well hope that wasnt too much to ask and i would apperciate all the advice i can get before i do anymore research

but i know the swap is possible and to me would be a very nice gain from stock of course ;-) and something different that the sr20s and ca18s out there but i know some people around here who have done those swaps and they very sweet too ;-)

I am by no means an expert on the subject but i can give you the info you want

1) you need the r33 subframe then you can use the r33 mounts, places like mckinney motorsports sell mount kits that allow you to use your stock subframe, but why spend more money when you dont have to?

2) front clip. because of the subframe. (and to be sure nothing is cut/removed improperly)

3) you are already thinking of upgrading? hehe they will push that s13 to 12.5's BONE STOCK with lsd. I dont know what kind of turbo would be good for you, it all depends on final goals.

hope that helped.

the R33 x member raises the engine 3and a half inches in the engine bay and the skeleton of the hood must be cut out. The bolt in kit is worth it. The other bad thing about the rb25det is that the turbo is only good to 10 psi. after that, the ceramic wheels have a high chance of shattering to pieces. yes there are people running them at 20 psi but that is stupid.

once again thanks for all the advice

turbo upgrade im probably seeing a td05 or td06 more than likely
this project is a bit off just trying to find a decent project car and then the engine is next still getting into a financial position but still good to ask q's before you get too deep into it and then find out it doesnt work. yes the LSD is an awesome idea. actually im probably gonna use a lot of 300ZX parts speaking of parts check out www.twinturbo.net in classifieds they always got a ton of stuff for sale and im sure as you already know courtesy nissan
