what springs to go with??

well i was reading a recent scc magazine about the siliva project car. they were working on suspension stuff. they used JIC coilovers. but i was wanting some other recommendations. they were saying that the 240sx depending on tires and suspension setup can ride on the bump stops. So here is what i was wanting to go with and see your input

KYB AGX w/ Ground Control Coilovers (adjustability is nice)
KYB AGX w/ Eibach PRo Kit nice drop but not sure if its not enough
KYB AGX w/ Eibach Sportline kit good drop/price not sure how it will effect the suspension for being really low.

Also my buddy has a set of team dynamic wheels(monaco)?that i can get for just about free. I have to replace one wheel because it is really dinged up. 17x 7 all the way around?? do you think thats wide enough??

well tell me what you think. and personal experiences

Ground controls come with their own spring, but can you change that spring?

I have the eibach sportlines and it handles really good. The height is perfect for everyday city driving. Id recommend getting the sportlines.

i'd like to hear more reviews of the GCs, like install time and such.

On the site it says they only have street applications for the s14 though.....I drive a s13, anyone know if the race version is different somehow?

Dude...If you're gonna be a Rikki and settle w/springs...At least go w/the Tein's. They're the S-Tech's. But just save up for the N1 Dampers or the Drift circuit kit.
Ground control....HAHAHAHAHA...That's funny.

coil over complete kits are awesome

i had pretty nice luck when i autocrossed my Z w KYB AGX and the TwinTurbo Stiffer spring rate on my 2+2. I just wanted the car alittle lower that was all with the Z. But yes i have also considered the Tein coilovers as well or the Apexi N1s too they are pretty nice. i guess we will just have to see i guess if i didnt like the setup i could always sell them and get coilovers. ;-)

wtf are you talking about? i would take ground controls over **** teins ANYDAY. ground controls arent crap. they are well designed and be ordered to the buyer's spec.

n1 dampers? first they arent easy to get at a decent price (1800+) unless you know people who sell them at dealer rate to you. 2ndly the drift circuit kit? are you referring to Apex or Tein??? um..i dont recall apex having one.

you can drift on stock suspension does that make it drift spec??

where's tnord?! lay down the law bro!!!

fyi, i have Tein HE...POS COILOVERS. the biggest thing i regret buying on my car. where's the valving? they suuuck.

replacing with some HKS Hypermax D or Kazama. 10/8 KG and valvign to match as well. shuld be within a couple months i'll have them on the car.

sL103
if you street a lot, go teins.
apex if you dont mind the bumpier ride or more expensive costs. its worth it. quality stuff. but expect long delivery waits, sometimes they'll need to come in from japan.

Firstly: WTF is a Rikki? Never mind, who cares.

Second: We're looking for real info here, so if you've used GCs then how bout some details as to why they suck. If you've just decided that u don't like them because you're ignorant then see the third point.

Third:STFU.

GCs are less expensive, therefore the MUST suck! Plus, they aren't JDM, wtf is with that?

this thread isn't even worth my time. there are certain "threads" i choose not to give good advice in because i don't think that certain "threads" really would

1) understand what i say
2) believe what i say
3) deserve to hear what i have to say

that is why i choose to not set the record straight.

o.k tnord we all believe you. It's either he likes it or he doesn't folks. It started as a simple question and all you had to do was answer the simple question, but your too good for that aren't you tnord. Aren't you? Yeah thought so. Why do you expect anyone to believe you? Just answer the question.

No ****...A good suspension is gonna cost you a good deal of money. It's a good investment. On the DE kit, I'm refering to the Teins. Trust me on this...We swear by these at work, we put the Tein coilovers on all our IS300's...And the work wonders on the 180. I've replaced my suspension many a time bro. I'm working on it again right now too.

a good suspension doesn't HAVE to cost you as much as an entire car. and why do you swear by the teins? what application are you using them for? where do you work? what does the company you work for do? i duno where the majority of these blingin coilovers come from.......but unless they are distributed by the manufacturer specifically to the US, you're gonna have to pay a buttload of overhead to get them stateside.

you're gonna have to do more than just say "i swear by them" to gain some credibility.

isnt tein made in tawain and USA???

..i know JIC is tawain..pretty sure tein was too

what model of teins did you say you used fastback180?

they make
HA
CS
RA
FLEX
WGN

for lexus i believe

RA=top quality-racing bred setup.

the rest are very streetable setups. what do you use on the lexus? what rates. racing setups, no and yes depending on how 'serious' of racing is done.

what are you basing this on?
have you tried other systems?
or just swear by them because tein sells/gives them cheap to your lexus?

please elaborate.
