Unhappy please help!!! read

i just took my 91 coupe to get the emissions done and i failed it because i have too much nitrogen. he said that it was either the cat(which is a high flow so i dont think that is it) or the egr valve. where is the egr valve located? and i heard people talking about everclear? or whatever you can buy to make it pass. does that work?? i really need to know because i need to get my tag. i would prefer just buying the everclear or whatever makes you pass. because im about to get my sr so im trying not to spend much money on something thqt i qm not going to use. thanks
