Best ways to have a sturdy bumper..

Now im tryin to mount my bumper up right so that way its sturdy and not sagging lol. I dont have a front core support.

Now what are some of your ways that you use to make the bumper flush with the rest of the car lol.

on the top of your bumper it sits on those brackers on the core support area , bolt those up , ,

also if you had the stock bumper on the top of the bumper there is a piece of metal that will go on the after market bumper and you can use that to bolt up to the bracket ill show u mine

yea wish i had all that, i dont have any of that anymore, thats what i been tryin to find i dont have thos no more.

my bumper was sagging for a long as time and i finally fixed it. one of my friends just bought a 180 and didnt need his bumper support beam. we cut out the center section and tried to fit the 2 end pieces to hold it up. unfortunately they wouldnt fit because of the way the turn signals were molded on the Origin bumper. so we hacked up the ends a little bit more and finally made something that would work.

this was on an silvia bumper not a 180...which do you have?

its a lot easier to make the 180 bumper fit if you have the metal piece that the dude above is talking about because then you can just zip tie it to the headlight brackets

if you need pics of anything im talking about just let me know and i can try hook those up after work

if you can, you may have to source some sort of stock bumper support

the part inbetween the lights needs a metal bar , if you have a metal trip drill some hols in it and use that



even after i murdered the bumper it still sat stright ,

make a little bar

Yea you see those two pieces where the hoods rests where the rubber stoppers are at. I dont even have that anymore, so i'll have to make some sort of makeshift metal strip and L-bracket, hmmm

fabricate something with some aluminum or something like that? something strong enough to not let the bumper sag...

hahah yea i know right, zip ties will only hold up but so much hahaha. but yea, seems like i'llbe doing that. Just tryin to make it look decent for a change.

get some 2x4 and build you a bumper support

if you have some welding skills you could fab up something to use as a bumper support if its sagging by removing the bumper support(some tubing or something just to hold it up...) and if its sagging up top close to the hood... get some sheet metal or something like that and make some brackets that hold on to the rad support.. maybe some of these ideas will spark a better idea...

how about you install the PROPER hardware to support your bumper???

This is not a problem. The bumper support bolts onto the frame rails and has nothing to do with the radiator core support. You do have the stock frame rails, don't you?

If you want to save some weight, use JDM bumper support because JDM ones are less hefty than USDM ones due to stiffer USDOT bumper requirements.
