I got my clip today

Today I recieved the R32 RB20DET clip I ordered from Venus auto. I'm happy to say the least. It came with a few extra parts that made me one happy camper. It came with a Blitz Access ECU, it had the digital climate control that I am using in my car now and it has the NISMO 260km/h speedo. The clip came with 83863KM which comes out to 52110 miles. I have lots of pics already. I already took the dash and interior out, the car had been rolled so it was difficult to get the ECU out but I managed. Here are some pics of just some of the stuff.

Thats why I'm finding every bit of info on this thing that I can find. The only thing that I see being a problem is a knob on the bottom, it has writing on it but it's in japanese. The guy that will be tuning my car knows enough to the point where I don't worry about it.

I don;t mind at all, if you don;t need to ship it you can get it for 1000, it's their monthly special. I paid 1500 total for it, but I just got about 960 back from the ECU and guage cluster. It also has KYB suspension. Probably the stock clutch but well find out, I just took off the intercooler and all the piping. I plan on putting up a website, sort of a how to if all goes well. I tried to get info from a couple of places and the only people that would help me was unstable hybrids. The other places wouldn't give info because it was "their secret" I have tons more pics of it thats just what I posted. If you want more E-mail me and I'll send them.

Are you SERIOUS?!>?! I was just told $2300 for a S13 clip. How is the Skyline clip so much cheaper?

I'm in South Bay, but Venus is only 1-2hrs away...

Good luck, gotta love that engine, what are your plans with it?

Also talk to the few RB owners on the boards for some assistance.

I think the RB clip is so much cheaper is because it's not in a high demand and it's not a motor meant for any car in the US. My plans with this motor is just 300-400 whp and I'll be satisfied. I don't want to play around with the External wastegates, I just want to keep my stock manifold, and maybe upgrade to just a T3. Then comes the usual 3in downpipe and full exhaust, FMIC, bigger injectors, cams, yada yada yada. I'v etalked to like 3 other guys that were very helpful and found out a lot of info on the motor itself and the swap.

I just got the whole interior harness out along with the harness of the ECU. I pulled the cam cover checked it out, it was clean, there is a bunch of sludge and what not in the throttle body, so I need to take it off and clean it. I had to cut away a peice of the clip on the driver side where the fender goes so I could get the fuse block out. I went and put the digital Climate control unit in my 240 and it fits like it was meant for the car. Tomorrow I'm going to tear out my dash and start in on the wiring for the interior, and also see if the guage cluster will fit. I'll post more pics tomorrow.

I finally had the time to get the motor and trannt out of the clip. I had to cut the frame out a bit to fit the fuse block through so I didn't have to cut the harness right then. Ultimately I'll have to to get iut into my car. I spent a few hours cleaning some of the parts I pulled off of the car and getting most of the sludge and crap off of the motor. The clutch is pretty new by the looks of it, nothing special, just a stock replcement. Here is a pic of the motor out of the car

and here is a pic of the turbo. It seems like it's in great working order. There is no shaft play and the blades spin freely. It's a little dirty so I needd to clean it but here it is.

Good to hear you had a good experience with us. Let us know if there is something else we can do to help.

And the other places claimed proprietary knowledge, but honestly, they probably didn't know at all. Since we first did the RB20DET swap in the states a couple of years ago, there have only been a few other shops that have done them. Most people just repeat RB info they read off the internet, which hasn't been very reliable in our experience.

Good luck!

Dennis

damn... i am shocked. i had no idea they were that cheap. i live in the bay so venus is pretty damn close. you have really changed my mind about rb swaps. i was pretty much set on the sr but for 1500 dollars for the whole clip, wow. can someone do me a favor and give me a little more info on them. like how much hp the engine can put out with the stock turbo and how the aftermarket is for them. also some pics of a 240 with an r32 clip would be GREAT. thanks!! btw good job for finding that deal.
