KA FMU, BOV for ka24e-t

Well i've been piecing together a turbo system for my 1990 240sx blue h/b. My turbo manifold is made from a modified stock manifold which i hope to replace eventually with an equal length manifold. im using a 300zx t turbo which i think is a t3 and i am not too sure what trim it is. As of right now i also have an intercooler from and older supra turbo but am modifying an intercooler from an 18 wheeler as a possible future intercooler. my question is about if i plan to run around 5-6 psi should i use the 8:1 ratio plate for the vortech FMU and if not what ratio should i use. and any other recomendations other than a rebuild for engine prep would be greatly apreciated. I also need a recomendation on what kind of boost control i need. If you havn't noticed from my parts list im am kinda short on cash and would appreciate the best cost effective boost controller that you know of (also should be able to perform with reassurance)...............what kind of bov and what i will need to control the bov to regulate boost...................................thank you for any input

and remember.....................REAL MEN DO IT FROM THE SIDE lol.........drift on!!!!

you use the wastegate to regulate boost. the actuator should have a threaded rod so you can adjust the amount of tension on the wastegate, which will then affect at what psi it actuates at.

for the FMU i've been told 10:1 is ideal. You should really look into upgrading the fuel pump if you haven't done so alread. If you haven't, don't boost. Your stock pump will get choked by the additional pressure it has to work against and its ability to flow fuel will drop as pressure goes up. Basically, raising fuel pressure will work against the fuel pump.

For a BOV, 1g DSM BOV's or even a cheap Bosch unit should work.

I will be running hte first gen DSM... I got it from a junkyard.. brought it home and did 2 simple mod's to it so it will hold more than 17psi.. here is the link for it.. quite simple.. good luck

http://www.thedodgegarage.com/turbo_bov_mod.html

It cost me about 8 bucks for all the bits, taps, and die's... but like the site says.. if you dont plan to run more than 17psi you should be fine with the stock unit.. Just a little idea I use, dont say you got it off a dsm, and say it is a egr valve.. might help with payment of the BOV...???
