hey make sure u get the right one or else at high rpm it will pop the filter out and ur screw. Here is the right one for s13 blacktop n redtop that you could use from the se-r= 15208-53j00. This is for a fact because i have a s13 blacktop as well and i use some another model but from the se-r as well and it filter fell off on me. GL man.
ps- there are other filters from other cars that you can use as well though |

Toyota part number 90915-YZZF1 works too. I have a 98 toyota corolla that uses that filter also. That way I can make just one trip to the toyota dealer and buy filters for both my toyota and my nissan. I have a s13 sr20det and have been using that filter for the past 4 or 5 oil changes. Also this filter is about an .5-1 inch longer so just a tad more oil capacity.
Also Toyota filters are made by Denso which are supposed to be one of the better filters out there. |

Explain how an oil filter can produce better oil pressure.

I'm very surprised nobody said anything about the purolator pure one sooner. Fail. Teflon infused poly oring and drainback valve win.
The two constraints that hold engineers to filters are mainly maximum flow and minimum particle size. When creating a filter to handle .01 micron particles, it's hard to allow a lot of fluid flow to pass through per unit time. With a greater more free flowing filter element, pressure DROP across the filter paper is decreased, which increases your effective oil pressure at its destination.

Talking bout back from the dead. See, i searched!!!
Why do people say redtops use 91ser filters but blacktops use 95ser filters? Dont both engines have identical oiling systems? Why cant you use one filter on both? 2. If running a relocation kir, can one use the largest filter that threads on and seals regardless of make, model? Ie: arent all filters the same thing, just made in different sizes? |

It won't screw on because they are different sizes.
Yes you can run a huge filter if you want. If you are running something gargantuan I suggest priming your oil system after oil changes before starting the car.

Thanks!!!! So to clarify, filters dont have different pressure relief valves, or resistance to them? Just different sizes, right?
Why doesnt everyone stop running these tiny ass filters then? Its not like the sr20 carries a lot of oil as is.....it needs every additional drop you can fit |
