Now i noticed that our cars have a second fan. Now i was wondering what it is for and when does it kick in?
oh and why aren't they on the SR engines?

I'm pretty sure you're talking about the condenser fan for the A/C. That turns on when the engine hits a certain heat to provide some extra cooling on the condenser.
