I wouldn't really consider it JDM, don't really know hwo to classify it, and have no clue why it says 240sx if its for sale on japan auction. Anyways clear tails look pretty wierd on all cars too me, used to think they looked good on some cars, but after a while stock lights rule. Here is a pic of a half clear taillight, looks kinda funky, but imagine all clear, or photoshop it.

hmmmmm....weird looking. Looks gross though. Think about when you hit the brake, and they light up pink like all those civics used too back when clears were popular.
![]() I like the red/clears though. I would consider getting them over the kouki tails...but I guess thats just me ![]()

The Full Clears would not look so good. Wonder if it will show all the rust in your hatch being clear and all! Joking
![]() KiDyNomiTe: Those 50/50 tails look kinda good in that pic. |

People in Japan tend to emulate Americans...
we see the opposite happening in the US. One more interesting fact is that Japanese Silvia and 180SX owners actually do KA24DE engine swaps to their cars!!! If you think about it, a turboed KA24DE should have more power than an SR20DET (2.4 vs 2.0 litre). Even if the SR20DET is a engine engineered for racing and the KA24DE is a "workhorse" low maintanence engine, some people prefer the bigger displacement and that added low end grunt that is associated with it. I guess the bottom line is that people want to be "different" by getting novelty items for their cars. By the way, those clear taillights are pretty ugly...at first glance, it reminds me of an American riced-up Eclipse. |

I live in japan and Ive seen alot of silvias and 180's owned by japanese nationals. None of them had ka motors, and most dont even know what a ka motor is. Where in japan are you seeing this idiotic act.

Not too many people do the swap.
Come on now...if you already have a K's why would you drop in a KA24DE??? The people I know in the Yokohama bay area have old S13 Q's (1800) or the original 180SX. They just do it for fun, just for the novelty of having a "240SX". Some try to turbo it and some just have it carburated. Those who go turbo envy the Americans who get cast iron manifolds...they have to make custom welded ones that crack every few months. Trust me...these people actually exist. If "idiotic Americans" are called "ricers" then "idiotic Japanese" are called "yankees" |
