big time misfiring while not boosting

Howdy, I am having some issues with my s14 sr20det. I have tried some fixes, but to no avail. Basically, the power cuts out (misfires) when i am pressing in the throttle lightly. When it begins to cut, i just give it more gas til it hits boost, then i am fine.

I have done a boost leak test, changed the fuel filter and checked the plugs. What else do you think it could be? Thanks for help.

for future ref. of anyone who has this problem ... It was the ground on the top of the intake manifold. They came loose and created the problem. Insanely simple.

Wow my Sr started doing this this morning as well. Seems like a boost leak but everything is good. Once it warms up it goes away and drives fine. WTF mate?

def. something with the fuel. check fuel pressure and check to see if you have a leaky injector.

Well it happened again and this time I quickly checked the wideband. I went from 14.7 afr to off the chart lean which to me suggests that fuel cut is happening. As soon as it cleared up I got on the throttle and made a clean pull to redline with a flat line going from 12.8 @2500rpm to 12.0 @redline. Seems like a MAF issue mabe?

Send a message via AIM to SoguRacing
check your fuel pump. it could be surging or cutting out as demand increases for the injectors.
