Mine have 150,000 and I'm shooting for 15psi. If you don't plan on revving higher then 7200, stock redline, then you should be fine, that's what puts the most stress on the rods. They are pretty solid rods from the factory, forged and shot peened.

Dennis from unstable-hybrids has been running 350hp on his stock internals, so that means rods. The pistons are just fragile and not resistant to detonation. The rods don't take the brunt of that problem. It can weaken them though. Most often a rod breaks in tension, not buckling (compression) so that isn't because of making power, it's because the piston is heavy and it's trying to pull it down really fast. The speed that it pulls it down is dependant on rpm. They also often break due to spun bearings or lack of oil and other bearing related problems.

240 Racer: If you happen to know off the top of your head, what kind of turbo set-up is Dennis from unstable-hybrids running?

It's just that I'm looking at going KA-T fairly soon, and 350hp has been my goal. So as I start gathering info on parts and prices, it's nice to know what other people have done to achieve that power...

I don't think he is planning on using the stock pistons, he just wants to reuse the rods. That's what I did, I have arias pistons and I am using stock rods as well.

Dennis is running a JWT ecu with a stock motor and probably a kinda custom turbo setup. I think he has cobra maf and 50lb injectors. do a search for the cobra maf and 550cc injector thread and you will find about 3 pages of goodies.
