ok guys if im driving say 30mph and i press the brake pedal decently hard not enough to skid but decently hard, and all of the sudden the car almost shuts off... and the guages go haywire, rpm gauge mostly, then returns to normal????

That probably means you have a vacuum leak in your brake booster.
