Arrow Why do Ka-T guys run honda radiators?

I was just wondering why built ka guys run honda radiators on their beasts..

I saw a few pictures and most of the over 800hp setups ran some type of baby civic radiator.

i have never seen it. Are they drag cars? If so, perhaps since the race is only several seconds long, they want to keep as much heat as possible in the system to get maximum power.

Because they've realized they can make a cooling setup thats just as efficient and doesn't weigh as much. A three row radiator that's half as wide as stock is still more effective. And everyone and their mother makes civic parts so it's a quarter what we pay for radiators

MORE effective? I think not. A 2 row 240sx radiator has a higher heat transfer capability than a 3 row half size one. Now imagine a 3 row full size. The contact area is a multiplier when talking about basic heat transfer of an object.

With a heat exchanger, the amount of air flowing through, and number of fins on the heat exchanger can change the amount of heat transfered. So to have a smaller civic radiator to have a similar performance of a larger one of equal property, you would need a stronger fan to have a higher flow through the fins.

The stock radiator is fine. You don't hear about over heating until you start talking to the road racing guys whose engines are under constant load in hot 90 degree F summers.

We do it for fitment purposes when we run LARGE frame turbos with forward sweeping manifolds and need all the room we can get. I wouldn't ask for KA-T info on zilvia. KA-T.org - The Home of 1000+ whp/7 sec Turbo KA's

And I damn sure wouldn't listen to the advice of some guy who has blatant honda hating in his signature.
