Sounds like your MAF is not wired correctly. You have the same symptomology of a KA with the MAF unplugged. AKA "limp mode".

Unplug your MAF then start up and see if anything changes, if it doesn't there's our problem.

Like, I told you, its the maf/maf wiring.

One of the wires on the z32 maf will be grounded to the chassis.

Did it, its a no go. Ground it, followed diagram, I'll re rewire again tomoro. Also cleaned the maf today too.

Idles at 1400 when warmed up, 17-1800 when cold. Bogs around 25-3k when driving, can't even get pass 3500 after that, can't drive it.

So when I took the MAF sensor harness out, the car ran the same exact way as if it was in there, does that mean the maf sensors out?

Then it's the MAF or the wiring to it. If you tried a known working one that narrows it down. Try pulling the cable to the MAF on your buddies working car then start up and see if it has the same problems as yours, it will go into limp mode as well. Never heard of anything else on a KA causing limp mode, but...?

Vac and boost leaks can cause a lots of problems but you wouldn't be rev limited to 3k, plus you would have very erratic idle.

check the duaghter board on the ecu to make sure its in right. Then rest the ecu by disconnecting the battery for 10-15 min. Sounds like the ecu might be running on safe mode. i have an emance ecu also with that set up and it did that at first also.

check for boost leaks on both sides of the throttle body. High idle can be due to a vaccum leak on the manifold side of the throttle body. Not being able to rev passed 3500 could be due to the fact that the maf is recieving incorrect readings due to a possible leak.
Good luck.

im confused
"emance tuned obd1 ecu (for 370cc, z32 maf, and t25)
obd1 to obd2 conversion harness"
why an obd1ecu on an obd 2 harness?

if you have a friend or happen to have an safc2 laying around, wire it up and see if the ecu is reading the MAF properly. if the safc fixes the probelm, means your ecu isnt reading

have you tried your maf on his car?!
if that works... then its your wiring.. period.

only other possibility would be your ecu being fried or your chip isnt placed properly.

Yea, I did. His car ran the same as if his was in. Plus the guy that sold me ecu said it was running fine before he took it off.

This is the diagram I ran with http://jimwolftechnology.com/wolfpdf...%20NISSANS.PDF

Heres another thing, when I drove it in 5th doing 60, when I floor it, I hear the turbo spooling up but its not going anywhere.

Checked the spark plugs, stuupid black. Plus I filled her up and I went thru a quarter tank with only 20 miles! Stupid rich. =(

the ecu in limp mode will always be retardedly rich.
your maf wiring should be the culprit.
I still have to check out the link you posted
because I'm online with a phone
if you can, take out the chip and anything you can unplug with it.
plug it all back together.

So I checked the ecu for codes today and the light wouldn't blink. Scan tool couldn't read and connect with the ecu. Wiring to the maf is correct, I have a 91 ecu to a 97 harness.

yeah, i dont think you can check for codes on an emance.

did you check the chip and unplug, etc like i said?

also, you cant completely rule out wiring.

first time i did my maf swap,
i followed the write up EXACTLY.
tripled checked the pictures and my car ran like yours.
swap 2 different wires and it ran perfect.

CONSIDERING YOUR SYMPTOMS,
it can only be....
-MAF WIRING
-ECU
-CONVERSION HARNESS ISNT RIGHT

btw. who made the conversion harness?

What do you mean by chip and unplug?

The conversion harness was purchased on here from another member. The harness looks super duper ghetto. I'll take pictures to show you.

What rpm does limp mode limit me to? I can rev up when I drive, just bogs like no tomorrow, plus it idles now at 1100. Im going to bring it to my friends shop on friday to have some people look at it. I'll switch the wire around again just to see tomorrow. I doubt its the wiring cuz I tried already. If anything I think its the ecu or the conversion harness.

I'll let you know how it goes, thanks for the help.
