I installed an aftermarket antenna on my car the signal is not as good as it used to be with the stock one. the one I have now uses an amplifer to Improve the signal when I touch the antenna itself the signal improves greatly I'm wondering if the antenna needs to be grounded or something I'm not good with the electical stuff so please offer me what suggestions you have.

the antenna NEEDS to be grounded... atleast the signal amplifier

gets some sand paper and find a bolt... sand off what evers around the bolt and the bolt itself... attach ground wire... done!
