Which clutch for my redtop SR?
Well I just got my SR today and Im looking to replace parts to avoid bullshit later on. Im trying to decide on what clutch to get and I need opinions.
ACT Solid Race (Heavy Duty 6-Pad) Clutch Kit - SR20DET - Enjuku Racing ACT Street (Xtreme) Clutch Kit - SR20DET - Enjuku Racing Parts, LLC Both are a bit overkill I think for what my motor will be right when it goes in but over time I want 300WHP as a daily driver and a track car. Any help would be awesome! |

300whp = Exedy Stage 2. Nice pedal pressure, not too stiff, and quick engagement for nice clutch kicks. Since it's sprung, it's still DD'able. Much better than either kit you posted.
Agency Motorsports I believe is the one with the Group Buy up, check "Advertiser Specials" out. Expect to pay $370 shipped or so.

anything stage 2 and above REALLY doesn't have much give in my personal experince.
i DD an exedy stage 2 (3 puck) and i personally like it. teh clutch is like an on/off switch since i got rid of the dampner. it's eitehr engaged or not engaged lol. but again, i like it that way, and yes it rocks for clutch kicks. but yeah if you plan to actually track, then yeah exedy stage 2. replace yoru rear main seal whille you're at it. replace the front tranny seal too. |

exedy does not get put on any of my cars anymore due to personal experience...
The first clutch you posted is ridiculously HARSH for daily driving but will last a long ass time, I have the same version but replaced the unsprung clutch for the sprung model. |

For a 300 and under hp car i would run the HDSS from Act
the power capacity is plenty and it will drive much more like a regular clutch than a puck option. Please let me know if i can help you with a clutch kit. I try to keep a handful of stock on the common ones. Thanks, Robert

The Exedy's sprung hub still lets you slip the clutch a little, but as soon as you move your foot at all, it's engaged. Lasted two years before I traded the motor, I'm sure it'll last another couple years.
