you have GOT to be kidding. head gasket q.

correct me if im wrong but shouldn't there be more holes in this gasket?

this really pisses me off this is a BRAND new (from another member) cometic 1.01 head gasket. i still have the packaging. i want to verify that its not how its supposed to be before i call the company and flip poo.

im glad i decided to pull my motor back apart and noticed this, before i ran it and blew it again.

and if not then why are there extra coolant holes by the #4 and not by 1-3? this really confuses the shit out of me. from what i assume the coolant runs up side of cyl and through head then back down? an i just this big a noob?

that is how it's supposed to be. if you go to autozone's website and look at a pic of an oem gasket, it is the same way

If you motor is apart why don't you just match it up to the head?

The head has more coolant holes around #1, #2, and #3...but they are blocked by the HG.

...so it 'looks' wrong. But that's the way it is.

Those are coolant flow "restrictors". Keeps temps even and prevents cavitation in the head
