ka24de rebuild problem!!!!
ok i need help finding the problem guys the scenario is that im rebuilding my s14 ka24de ok the motor will only turn over so far and then valve hits a piston my set up is supertech pistons 89.50mm 9:1 compression, eagle rods, stock head just had it machined, and new oem head gasket my opinion is possibly need thicker head gasket or need to get the valves cut what do you guys think i need help!!! oh and yes the timing was correct i double checked it

this is old but tell us what was wrong.
-- sounds like 1 or both of the timing chains were off. stock length eagle rods are not the issue. double check the pistons although im confident they are correct. If excessive machining or surfacing of head and deck was done, this can change the timing dramatically depending on how much material was removed. check with your machine shop. head gasket shouldn't be the problem and do not cut the valves.... you should really rebuild your engine with someone who has experience... ~m

timing may look correct but make sure you're at the compression stroke. you may have your timing flipped 180 and it will look like it's fine. i had the same problem.
