Talking Low fuel Light

Okay, I know this is a stupid question, but s14 base models HAVE a low fuel warning light right? I was just thinking today that I've had the car for 2 1/2 years and I've never seen it come on. And I've driven the gas to near fumes lately what with gas prices being astronomically high. My manual shows the light is a feature. Maybe there's a fuse that's blown? Hmmm....any answers to this DUUHHH question would be great.

Thanks.

Yea, I have a 95 base, the fuel light does come on, but you really gotta get that needle low, like UNDER the E line. I do it on a regular basis with these damn gas prices. It turns on and off sometimes, can't make up it's mind.

my s13 has one too, it came on once and when it did the car had like, no fuel in it at all. you can get the needle below empty and the light still won't come on...
when the light comes on, there better be gas within a block or two or its just a signal to pull over and get the jerrycan.

Yea same with mine, sometimes i will be driving and the needle will be way below E and the light won't come on at all. then some other times it will be on E and the light will come on and the car will start to studder and I'll have to go right to a gas station.

It really ****es me off, i really don't know how much is ever in the tank.

On my base 95, I've only seen it come on once while i was on the freeway....very scared. So I jumped off the freeway and filled up at the first station i came across. But, if you want to test it, you can just drive around with an extra can of fuel and run until your gas runs out, or the light turns on, whichever comes first. Unless someone else sees something wrong with this.

Yea, i won't relay on the fuel light because on my car the needle sometimes is not very accurate. Plus I also heard someone that ran there gas tank to the end dignate their motor (it was a toyota MR2).
