Robin Williams' Peace Plan

"I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan:

1) The US will apologize to the world for our 'interference' in their affairs, past & present. We will promise never to 'interfere' again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No more sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are. France would welcome them.


4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 day visits unless given a special permit. No one from a terrorist nation would be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself, don't hide here. Asylum would not ever be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers.


5) No 'students' over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a 'D' and it's back home, baby.

6) The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing non-polluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.


7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else.

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not 'interfere'. They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides, most of what we give them gets 'lost' or is taken by their army. The people who need it most get very little, anyway.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an island some place. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, it would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

9b) Use the buildings as replacement for the twin towers.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us 'Ugly Americans' any longer.

I do agree we need to impose some isolationism back into our foreign affairs, I don't enjoy giving my hard earned tax money to solve other people's problems. We have plenty of internal affairs to take care of before we go bomb another "terrorist" nation.

I think the representative republic as framed in the US Constitution is a wonderful thing, and it's proven successful.

Freedom of immigration, and being a central player in world politics and economics, are the two major reasons why the US is such a powerful country today. How many of you reading this are of Colonial English or Native American descent? Any Daughters of the American Revolution in the house? I'm not. My ancestors were all 20th century immigrants - many of them from a "terrorist nation" (don't think the Irish Republican Army aren't terrorists just because they're white Christians).

You want to close the borders politically? Then be prepared for the economic backlash. I hope you don't like any foreign products, you know, like cars or electronics.

You want to stop buying foreign oil? What has Venezuela done to us, lately? Because that's where most of it comes from.

I love living in the USA, which is why I hate ignorant, reactionary bull**** written by scared little ninnies that think getting rid of all the brown people with accents will make it all better. One of the best things about living here is the ability to travel as I wish and participate in the global economy.

I don't mean "American" in the sense that you are a citizen of the U.S. I mean "American" in the sense that you love your country and are proud to be an American. No one's saying we should go back to complete isolationism. The whole point is that the U.S. does more for the world than any other single country. It would be more in the spirit of the founding fathers to say:

If you don't like America, try to change it, because every person has the right to try. Write to your leaders, rally public support, vote.

If you take up arms against this country, then you are an enemy. But there's nothing wrong with speaking your mind. Dissenting opinion should be encouraged, so that irrational ideas can be exposed.

Pride and nationalism can be dangerous things if they're taken to extremes. The day we start holding people to a standard of "Americanism" for their thoughts and beliefs is the day we step into tyranny.

I'm not talking about people who want to make a difference. I'm talking about people who just talk shit about America and don't give any suggestions as to how to improve it. The people that blame America and its president first before even considering that it may not be their fault. If someone truly disagrees with something and wants to change it and has an idea as to how to do that, I'm all for it, and I agree that that's what the U.S. is all about.

I'd consider the person that wrote the "peace plan" in the original post one of the uninformed idiots that would be better off keeping their mouth shut. But I will still defend their right to speak.

Jesus Christ dude, have you ever heard of comedy? All of that was written as a joke. Now you may not think that it was funny and you may not have been entertained at all, but to call the guy uninformed based on that is ridiculous. Also, no one's asking for the government to decide anything about ignorant people, where did anyone say that?
