Wheel Ideas.. check it out.

So we all know rims are mad cash that many of us don't have. I intend on going 5 lug and had been into mustangs so I have some ideas.

FRONT:
17x8 '98 Mustang Cobra rims
http://www.steeda.com/store/-catalog/98cobrarims.htm

REAR:
17x9 Steeda Ultra-Lite rims (weigh about 17-19lbs)
http://www.steeda.com/store/-catalog/ultralite.htm

I could get that setup for less then $800. I'm pretty sure the 17x9 is a +32 offset, but I'm going to call Steeda to make sure of it. What do you all think of the idea. the rims look about the same, and they are just going to be my steet setup for now.

If you need to know I've got a SR with most of the bolt on goodies running about 250ish HP and an ATS 2-way diff (yet to be installed)

EDIT: Offset can either be +24 or +36. I'm thinking +36 should work.

www.aaarims.com has the first set for sale in their overstock specials - set of 4 for $500

i was also looking at some old lincoln MK series meshies

for mustang rims, i prefer the 03 cobra SVT - 17x9 +26

Mustang rims seem as if they would be good, RWD wide wheels, someone on here has some Mustang rims on thier S14.

I personally love the bullit wheels, but cobra rims are probably wider, unless you get some really old school bullit rims.

For the street, it's fine. Big rims, look descent. And they are fairly cheap to boot. For the track I'm thinking FNO1R's.

i take it that you can replace that center piece w/ the mustang on it, itherwise it would look pretty ghetto...

The Steedas are 19ish pounds.

I gotta figure out if 17x9 +24 would fit the front without too much rub. I intend on getting flared FRP fenders in a bit.

semi-older BMWs have pretty nice rims. a lot with fairly large lips (for stock alloys). i should think they have low offsets to match.

Silly n00b, BMWs have either 4*100 (old) or 5*120 (new) bolt patterns; neither of which fit either our 4 or 5 lug hubs. We're 4*114.3 or/and 5*114.3.

Ok, this is just as bad as someone taking s15 headlights and putting them on an integra. I hate that. Keep the same **** on your car. Don't go taking stuff from other car manufactorers and putting it on your car. Just a pet pev of mine. I am not trying to insult anyone.

I think your wrong when it come to rims. A wheel is a wheel. But headlights and tails should not really be swapped thats just rice.

Now i see it like this. A 17x8 +30 offset 17-18lb rim, that looks good and clears Z brakes..... Why the hell not do it. An upgrade is an upgrade. It looks better and it performs better..... I dont see anything wrong with that.

As long as you change the center caps so they dont say "mustang" or whatever than its perfectly fine.

**note** I may be bias

Gotta agree with BadMoJo! Rims are more of an accent piece to set your car off from the crowd. Putting S15 headlights on an Integra, as mentioned by RedlineRacer actually changes the body lines of the car.

But, to each their own I guess. And yes, although a little heavy, the 03 SVT Cobra rims are very pretty.

Pick wisely and mustang wheels will look just great on a 240. I am not protesting. Those steeda wheels are sweet and relatively cheap compared to imported 240 wheels. Go for it.

PS, someone post a pic of those mesh Lincoln wheels, I want to see...

Edit: Are you talking about these?

nm, these... not bad looking actually, anyone know the specs?

5Zigen FNO1R's are pretty good rims, ~ 18Ibs ???

Why would anyone get 26 Ibs rims??

Its not that heavy rims makes car more stable...

Damn, if my rims are going to be 26 Ibs, they better be 19" and chromed!!

...and how much do FN01Rs cost?

The '98 Cobra wheels are less than $150 apiece.

They're also very well-made (OEM quality).

Lastly I bet they're still lighter than my steelies!
