You know that little cubby right below the stereo? Do they make like oil pressure gauges ect to fit in there instead? Someone has probably wanted to put it there besides me!

I haven't come across any gauge panels specifically made for that space, but I'm new to the scene.

I do know that cubby below the stereo is a "din" tall which is I believe just over 2" in height. I know that there are gauges out there that are 2" so with a bit of DIY style and ingenuity you could probably make one for yourself.

Granted this is all moot if they're already out there

you could always google for gauge panels meant to replace car stereos.

A company called Omori Makes a DIN size guage panel pod. I have seen these installed in many nissan cars. (primarily front wheel drivers).

They work great and IIRC hold three 45 or 52mm guages

I don't think it would be to hard to DIY, but its also nice that those are angled towards the driver.
Less glare etc.

It would be a little more difficult to DIY and have it angled like that.

Just out of curiousity, what kinda guages you using?

Saw some rather interesting ones the other day. Autometer is now making a full 270° sweep electric guage series. Look pretty nice, but i'm not to sure of the quality.

Blitz used to make one that went there. it only held 46mm guages though. (held three of them) I've got one at the house Im not using. been tinkering with the idea of dremeling it out to put guages 52mm guages in it. dunno.

I made a custom gauge panel under the stereo with an Air/Fuel stoich meter and a fuel pressure meter. Both are the new Cobalt series from Autometer.

If getting the parts from Omori is too much of a hassle. You could go by a Menards or something and get some plastic or something and make the bracket yourself. Using a quote from a good friend of mine, 'L.B.R.'. If you make the part yourself, you'll learn a little more and have some extra pride in your car.

You can make your own really easily with any flat material. Just get something about 1/8 or 1/16th inches thick and cut out 2 46mm or 3 52mm holes. Then voila, paint it or do whatever you want.

HKS makes a DIN panel that houses 3 46mm gauges, very nice looking but be prepared as HKS gauges are very pricey. I myself made a custom DIN panel from plexi glass that houses 2 Greddy 52mm gauges. Took me only 2 hours max and it is perfect. I did end up selling the gauges and deciding to go with the HKS unit as i wanted all 3 of my gauges under the head unit. But if you're only using 2 gauges make your own panel, it's easy.

The only problem with the HKS 3 gauge 46mm unit is that most of their 46mm gauges are discontinued. Also the limited supplies they have left are mix and match so you may have to settle for gauges of different colors.

Yep, with a thick sheet of plexi and some time.. you can fabricate your own clean gauge bezel. Here is what mine looks like:

"Now boarding, flight S13... please be seated and fasten your harnesses..."
