Sr20 completed! before/after pics..
wanted to thank zilvia board for have all the info. also heavythrottle for there FAQ. there wiring was great. i never bought anything from them but i will be soon! hehee
i had some confusion about the o2 sensor wires. i found a post that said to use the inner brown wire of the ka harness to connect to the sr20 brown wire. not sure if this worked out ok; but the car is idling good. I don't know if the o2 has anything to do with that. the rest of the harness was no problem. i used about 8ft total of sheilded wire and hacked up a spare ka interior harness for the right wire color. this was my first ever motor swap. i have never swapped a clutch or removed the drive shaft. other then that i have done everything else; like make a turbo kit, intalll this and that. So for you first time sr20 swappers to be GO FOR IT!! nothing sounds better then an sr20 with a 3in down pipe and no exhaust! especiallly when you did the wrenching. the hardest part for me was getting the motor in. i had jspec's ladder bar and the bell housing kept getting stuck there. also the greddy turbo outlet kept hitting the steering shaft. i had to push the motor to one side and reach over to lower the motor. So having a freind over at this point is a good idea. also jack up the back of the car. i'm waiting my apexi gt spec exhaust to come in and this baby will be on the road! some tips: -do not point the clutch slave cyl hole at your face and push in the cyl! - go over everything before you start the motor. i got excited and for got to clamp down all the fuel hoses!! - make sure your jack stands are not in the way when getting the motor out. my front clip tumbled over casue the hoist was pulling the motor at an angle instead of up.. -get a sliding hammer(not sure if that is what they call it) it is a long bar with a sliding handle in the middle. use this to remove the pilot bearing. can't think of anymore. any questions let me know. oh the motor is a red top. i tried to paint it black so it doesn't stand out to much. i used a wrinkle paint. only half of it ended up being wrinkled. i'll fix that later. some parts for the car. -greddy turbo outlet -project silvia downpipe/test pipe -project silvia engine dampener -project silvia brake lines -hks actuator and a modded turbo(not sure how modded; looks stock) -5lug front hubs -300zx rear upright/brakes etc. -hks turbo timer/harness -a bunch of nismo bushings! -nismo hub/nardi wheel -weds 16x7/16x8 -walbro HP fuel pump -obx manifold; no good it will crack if you drop it! -greddy type-r bov -greddy type-r wastegate that is all i can think of right now would like to thank; jspec and project silvia for there parts.also some friends at their shops that gave me killer deals; to bad it has to be cash! some pics.... |

very nice job! that primer look reminds me of the disco potato S13 silvia conversion. 278bhp, very sweet. i know you will be very close after a couple of mods

thanks everyone; about the ka motor ; i still have it. missing 3 connectors and motor mounts. other then that it is complete. $150 if you want it.
the car came primered. going to get it painted white with black roof. this should happen maybe 3 months. nothing expensive. one day paint or maybe just do it myself if i have time. |

That is a heck of a deal, unfortunantly, shipping 3000 miles would take it's toll. Like a dummy, I forgot to look where you were...but nevertheless, anyone that needs one, that is a killer deal. My Motor is still tight but I am keeping an eye out for a spare just in case.
I just thought of something....so I will PM you...ck your private messages..Tkx! Great job on your install! Last edited by Bill Roberts; 06-24-2003 at 12:29 PM.. |
