xxr 17's or 18's??????

Ok so I want a nice set of staggered wheels. I have another car im workin on thats takin up most of my play money so i prolly wont be buying any wheels for like two moths but thought it would be cool if you guys could give me some ideas or pics. Right now im lookin into the xxr (006), and (962) style wheels. either 17 by 9 in the rear or 18 by 9 or wider. front will either be 7 or 8 wide depending on overall size. either wheel i want in gold. Still open on opinions but thats what im into right now. so heres a pic of my car. btw the main reason for 17's was to keep it low since i dont plan on putting a body kit on. this is an old pic an im currently buyin an oem se lip that the previous owner removed. so here we go tell me what you think and give some advice.

I think the 006s in gold 17x8 17x9 would look sick on the car... I have them in gunmetal on my car and i love them. Yeh theyre cheap wheels so of course a lot of people on here will prolly bash you for them but heyy theyre cheap, good looking, durable, so you sacrifice in weight. They are a bit hefty.

Why would running 17s make the car lower vs 18s? Overall diameter of the wheels, which includes the tires, will be what makes it look smaller. Also, why go under sized on big wheel arches thats on an S14. 17x10 +15 or lower are the only 17's that look good on a 14. Go 18x9.5 +12 all around...
