ticking noise from driveshaft
o there is a ticking noise comming from my driveshaft and i dont know where it is comming from.i jacked up my rear end and spun my tires and it still does it and i cant figure out where it is comming form????? it makes the noise when i drive normal but when i step on it it stoms so it only happens when it is not under that much pressure....i also have a of balence driveshaft too i think because when i get to 15mph the car feels like you are going over one of them rumble strips on the hiway..so that might have a part in it....anyone know..

That is a bad universal joint. Replace them both and you will be fine.
You will need to remove the clips and then use a "c" clamp to press them out. Last edited by Bill Roberts; 07-07-2003 at 05:29 PM.. |

check for zip ties....back when i was younger, we would put zipties around our friend's driveshaft, when they hit the body underneath they would tick...it got worse as time went on (we had about 6 on there before he found them), and then he found them and got ****ed. oh well, it was fun.
