If the engine is still in the car, what I did was use another wrench and put on one of the other bolts. Position the spare wrench so that it can jam some where and hold the flywheel in place when you torque the other bolt. I dunno, thats the best I can describe it.

This could just be a really wild suggestion, but could you perhaps use the crank pulley bolt to position another wrench on and yank the hell out of it (in the hopes that the flywheel will come off before the pulley does)

They make a part that makes this a snap! It's a piece of sheet metal, about the size of a dollar bill, and it bolts into the holes for your transmission housing. On the other end, it has teeth that fit into the teeth on the fly wheel, and keeps the wheel from spinning. They're like 20 bucks at the dealership down the street.

oh snap, sorry didn't check on this thread for awhile. I ended up resting the wrench on an opposite bolt and pushing the breaker bar and wrench in opposite directions. Damn, the hardest part is lining the tranny back up. But all in all, this really isnt a hard job, I feel sorry for the people who don't trust themselves in doing it, you guys are missing a bunch
