s13 does it really make a difference what brand strut bar i get?

i have enough money to purchase a back and front. now i could get cusco type os for 330 or pilot for under 100. thats saving 200+ bucks. does it really matter the brand? are some brands better than others?

I had the pilots on my KA 240 S13 front only. I think the change was in my head, but the car did grip better on accelerating turns.

The cuscos, I had on an SR 240 i just sold and they were good as well. Very stiff, and pricey.

To tell you the truth, they were both relatively equal in stiffening the chassis and with grip.

If money is the issue, the just go pilot front/back s13.

I can't wait to see what certain others may suggest.

As long as they are sturdy enough to withstand some decent compression stresses, you'll be good to go. In other words, the Pilot ones are fine. The only reason for the more expensive ones is that they provide nice underhood bling. Kinda like the difference between a Casio and a TAG Heuer.

Most people cannot discern any difference in handling between different strut bars. Unless you have a feel for your car's handling characteristics, you really won't notice the difference between the Cusco or the Pilot (Unless the Pilot is poorly made).

If you fall into this category, get the Pilot.

I would go with the cheaper one as long as it didnt rust/oxidize the finish of the metal.

it's all about quality (fitment, clean welds) if the cheaper one fits, it'll probably work as good as the cusco one.

It does not really matter. If you're going for show, then obviouly buy the nicest, name brand one you can get. Other than that you can't really tell the difference except if you track the car and test the times. And even then, track/car conditions and human coordination can vary.
